Why Create Talking Avatar Videos?
Before we show you how to create talking avatar videos let us first give you two reasons why we create these kinds of videos.
Because They Are Attention-Grabbing
Recent studies conducted showed that the attention span of an average human is 8 seconds, which was around 12 seconds in the year 2000. That means the human attention span has decreased significantly in just 10 to 15 years.
Some researches even show that the human attention span now is lesser than that of Goldfish which averages at 9 seconds.
The people on the web are being bombarded by distractions, wherever they go online. Because of this, we don’t have much time to grab the attention of our visitors once they arrive at our webpage.
And there is no better way to grab the attention of our visitors than a video. When that video is a talking avatar animated video, chances of engagement and conversion are even higher.
Talking Avatar Videos Are Great for Online Marketing
The second reason why we use talking avatar videos in our marketing campaigns is that these videos tend to go viral fast. More than 90% of mobile viewers tend to share these animated videos with their friends and family. Also, offers with videos tend to convert well.
Studies have shown that including a video on a landing page can increase your conversions up to 80%.
Now let’s move on to the practical part of this guide and learn how to create talking avatar videos from scratch.
How to Use Talking Avatar App to Create Videos?
If you are our regular reader you already know that we are not graphic designers or animation experts. And that’s why we will be using a talking avatar app to create these talking animation videos. And the tool we are going to use for this tutorial is called the ‘Video Builder App’.
Video Builder app is a cloud-based software using which you can create professional-looking 3D animated talking avatar style videos. Before learning how to create talking avatar videos using Video Builder app, let’s look at some of the unique features of this animation software.
Unique Features of Video Builder App
- We can create unlimited talking avatar videos with this software.
- We can also create unlimited spokesperson style videos with this tool. But to do that, we need an upgrade.
- There is a wide collection of 3D lifelike avatars inside the Video Builder app. These avatars are available in both male and female characters.
- We can use the in-built Text to Speech engine to generate voice overs. There is no limit on the number of voice-overs we can create using this feature. But we personally use this software to turn text into voice overs.
- With the green screen replacement module, we can change the background of the talking avatar video with any image or video we want. This is a cool feature that we have used a lot in our earlier videos.
- With the inbuilt Lip Sync technology, the animated avatar characters in the video will almost perfectly lip-sync with the voiceover you have uploaded or recorded.
- One more feature we would like to mention here is the ability to add lower third animations, text animations and more. We personally don’t use this feature very often, but it does give a cool finish to your talking avatar videos.
Now without further ado, let’s see how to create talking avatar videos using Video Builder app.
How to Use the Video Builder App?
Now let’s create a 3D talking avatar style video. The video given below is the talking avatar video we created using the Video Builder app for this demo. Watch it now.
To create this video we need to get started by logging in to our Video Builder dashboard.
The Video Builder interface looks like what is shown in the image below.
To get started, we will upload our voice-over file first. If you don’t have a voice-over file you can use the inbuilt Text to Speech feature inside Video Builder app to generate voice from text and then use it in the video.
To upload the voice-over file we need to click on the ‘Media Library’ tab and upload our MP3 file. We can even upload videos and images if we want to. Once we have finished uploading our voice-over file it is time to choose the background for our video.
To do that we can use one of the images pre-loaded inside the Video Builder app or upload a new one. We can also use green screen background if we want to. For this example, let’s use an image given inside the Video Builder app.
To do that, we need to go to the ‘Media Library’ and choose one of the images inside the ‘Images’ folder. Then we need to click, drag and drop it onto the timeline, as shown in the image above.
Now to the main part. We will choose the ‘Talking Avatar’ style for our video. There are a number of 3D avatar characters available inside Video Builder. Some of them are for ‘Premium’ users only while others can be used by anyone with the ‘Standard’ license.
We just need to choose the one we like and click on the ‘next’ button to continue. For this example, let’s choose ‘Hiro’ and continue.
Now on the next screen, we need to choose the audio source. As we mentioned earlier, you can use the Text-To-Speech feature, record your own voice inside Video Builder or choose an uploaded voice-over file from the media library.
As we have already uploaded a voice-over file we will use it for our video. Click on next to continue.
Now in the final step, we need to drag and drop the avatar preview file on to the timeline.
If we need to edit the size and the placement of the avatar or the background image, we can do it on the timeline itself.
To edit an element on the timeline we just need to right-click on the element track. A pop up will open up giving us all the available editing options.
As you can see in the image above, we can resize the talking avatar or the image, add transitions, move the element, add voiceovers and do much more. Once everything is satisfactory we just need to click on the ‘create’ button to export the video.
Once the video processing is complete we can download the talking avatar video to our device. It will also be saved on the cloud through the Video Builder app. And that’s how to create talking avatar videos using the Video Builder talking avatar app.
