Blogging Lifestyle: How Does a Day In The Life of a Blogger Look?
There is a lot of mystery surrounding the blogging lifestyle of a pro blogger. When most people think of bloggers, they think of people who sit in their pajamas all day and write about their lives.
While that may be true for some bloggers, it’s not always the case. In fact, many bloggers spend hours each day working on their blogs.
Today, for example, Sarah (a professional blogger) is up early getting ready to work on her blog. She has a lot she wants to get done today, including writing a few posts, creating some new graphics, and scheduling some social media updates.
First, up is writing a post. Sarah spends an hour brainstorming ideas and then drafting a rough outline. Once she has a good idea of what she wants to say, she starts writing the draft. She takes her time, making sure to edit and revise as she goes.
After she’s happy with the post, she moves on to creating graphics. She spends another hour or so designing images that will help illustrate her points and make her posts more visually appealing.
Finally, Sarah sets aside some time to schedule social media updates. She spends a few minutes each day promoting her latest post on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites.
All in all, Sarah spends several hours each day working on her blog. And she’s not alone. Many bloggers put in long hours to create high-quality content that their readers will enjoy.
So, the next time you think of bloggers, remember that they’re often hardworking individuals who are passionate about their work. They may not always be in their pajamas, but they’re always working hard to bring you the best content possible.
In this article, I will give you a glimpse into what a typical day looks like for me as a blogger. I’ll share with you the tasks I complete each day, as well as the tools and resources I use to make my life easier.
Are you ready to learn more about the blogging lifestyle? Let’s get started!
The Morning Routine
The first thing I do when I wake up and get out of my bed is to check my phone for any new notifications. It is nice to see sales notifications in my inbox first thing in the morning! It gives me the motivation to start my day.
After checking my phone and finishing my morning routine, including the daily jog and bath followed by breakfast, I sit down at my desk to start work.
My Desk Set-Up
On my desk, I have a simple setup that has my laptop and wireless mouse. I also have a notepad and pen for when inspiration strikes!
My desk is uncluttered and organized, with my laptop, notepad, and pen always within reach. I keep my desk clean and tidy so that I can focus on my work. I find that a tidy desk helps me to stay organized and efficient.
I also have a comfortable chair that I can sit in for long periods of time. My home office is quiet and calm, which helps me to concentrate on my work. I am able to work effectively at my desk and produce high-quality content for my blog.
What Time of Day do you Start Working on your Blog?
I start working on my blog as soon as I sit down at my desk in the morning which is usually at 9.30 am. I like to get a head start on my work so that I can have the rest of the day free to do other things.
The first thing I do when I sit to work every morning is check my email. This is important because I need to see if there are any new emails, comments, or questions from readers.
I also use this time to check for any new opportunities that might be available, like guest posts. Once I’ve finished with my email, I start working on new blog post ideas.
I usually have a list of topics that I want to write about, so I’ll spend some time brainstorming different angles and approaches. Once I have a solid idea, I start writing the actual post.
It usually takes me a couple of hours to write a complete article, including all of the research and formatting.
I usually work on my blog for a few hours in the morning and then take a break in the afternoon. I find that I am most productive in the morning, so I try to get as much work done as possible then.
I typically work on my blog for about four to five hours each day, but this can vary depending on my workload. I will work longer hours if I have a lot of content to produce.
What Tasks do you Complete Each Day?
Some of the tasks I complete each day include writing blog posts, creating graphics, and promoting my content.
I also spend time creating and publishing videos on YouTube for some of my YouTube channels in different niches. I find that creating videos is a great way to drive traffic to my blog and affiliate offers and increase my earnings.
The Mid-Day Slump
Around midday, I start to feel a bit sluggish, especially after my noon meal. This is when I take a break from work.
This is normal for me and I have learned to accept it.
In order to combat the mid-day slump, I take a break from work and go for a small nap. I find that this helps me to recharge and come back to work feeling refreshed.
After my break, I sit down at my desk and start working again. I usually have a second wind of energy after my break and can work for a few more hours.
What kind of research do you do Before you post?
I spend a lot of time researching the topics that I write about on my blog. This is important to me because I want to make sure that my content is accurate and informative.
I also want to ensure that my readers are getting value from my blog posts. In order to do this, I research each topic thoroughly before writing about it.
For keyword research and topic ideas, I use a variety of tools, including Ahrefs, Ubersuggest, and WriterZen. I also analyze competitor blog posts and see how they have created and formatted their content about a similar topic.
When I’m researching a topic, I take notes and save them in a document so that I can refer back to them later. This helps me to organize my thoughts and write better blog posts.
The Tools I Use
I have already written a detailed article on this website about the tools that I use for my blog.
To sum it up, I use WordPress as my content management system, which is where I write and publish all of my blog posts.
I also use a variety of plugins and themes to make my blog look professional and improve its functionality. In addition, I use Google Analytics to track my website traffic and see how my blog posts are performing.
I am also a big fan of creating animated videos. I use tools like CreateStudio, Canva, and a few other whiteboard animation software for this purpose.
Another tool hard to live without is Jasper. Jasper is an AI content generator that creates high-quality content for my blog, videos, email autoresponders, eBooks, and more using the power of AI.
This is a huge time saver for me and allows me to create more content in less time.
What do you do in your Free Time?
In my free time, I like to relax and unwind. I usually take a walk or watch a movie. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
I find that taking breaks is important for my mental health and well-being. It allows me to recharge and come back to my work with fresh eyes. I am able to work more effectively and produce better content when I take breaks.
I think it’s important to have a balance in life and not let your work consume you. That’s why I make sure to take some time for myself every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
I also think it’s important to stay connected with the world and learn new things, so I also spend some time reading news articles and books.
I believe that everyone should have a hobby or two that they enjoy outside of work, as it can help prevent burnout and keep you feeling fresh and motivated.
For me, blogging is my passion and my hobby, so I don’t mind spending extra time on it outside of work hours. But I know that not everyone feels the same way, so I make sure to respect their boundary between work and free time.
To Conclude
This is a typical day in the life of a blogger who does it for living. Of course, there are variations depending on the niche, workload, and other factors.
But in general, this is what goes into a day in my life as a blogger.
