How to Create a Design using the DesignCap Tool?
Now let’s see how to create a beautiful graphic using the DesignCap tool. As mentioned earlier, it is an easy-to-use app and is beginner-friendly. To create any kind of design using the DesignCap, you just need to accomplish 3 simple steps.
1.Select a Template
Depending on the type of design you need, you can choose a template from thousands of available design templates under various categories.
2. Customize the Template
To customize the chosen template you just need to click on the element on the template and then edit it. As simple as that. You can also add extra elements to the templates and remove the ones you don’t need. Oh, and also you can add photos to your graphic.
Don’t have your own media files? No problem. You can choose one from the available collection of thousands of photos from inside the DesignCap interface.
3. Publish It
Once your design is ready, you can download it to your computer or publish it online.
DesignCap Demo
Now let’s see how simple it is to create a design in DesignCap, by giving you an actual demonstration.
Let’s get started by clicking on the ‘Get Started Now’ button on the home page. Remember that we have already logged into our account.
On the next page, we can either create a design using one of the many available pre-made templates or create a design from scratch. Let’s get started with a pre-made template.
For this demo, let’s design a YouTube thumbnail. The YouTube thumbnail templates are available in the ‘social media graphics’ section inside the DesignCap dashboard.
Let’s choose a template and start customizing it.
Here’s what the inside of DesignCap work area looks like.
We have a central working canvas where all the editing takes place. The templates available in our chosen category are shown on the left side of the central canvas. The tools panel is on the extreme left.
The tools panel contains the following.
- Elements
- Photos
- Charts
- Texts
- Modules
- Upload options
- Background customization options
Now, to start customizing the chosen template, we just need to click on the element and edit it. For example, if we want to change the text, just click on the text element and add the text you want.
Similarly, we can edit each element of the template.
We also have total control over how the photo in our design looks. There are a ton of customization options and photo filters available inside DesignCap that help us to enhance the photo’s appearance.
We can adjust the contrast, opacity, exposure, brightness, etc. There are a number of image filters too. We can also rotate the image or flip it.
Once you are done with the editing part, just save your project and download it to your computer. We can download our design in JPG, PNG and PDF formats.
Here’s what we created using DesignCap. It hardly took us 5-10 minutes, to come up with this simple Youtube thumbnail design.
Now, let’s see how much DesignCap costs and what are the different plans.

Are There Any Negatives?
There are no major drawbacks with the DesignCap software. However, one thing we would like to see in the future is an increase in the number of pre-made templates in the DesignCap Plus plan.
For example, when we searched for the ‘blog banner’ templates, which is a very popular templates category in some of the other major design software, there were none to be found. There were no exclusive blog banner and blog graphic templates. So that’s something we noticed, which can be improved. Apart from that everything else looks solid.
DesignCap Vs Other Popular Platforms
The main difference between DesignCap and some of the other popular online design software is pricing. For example, if you buy the pro membership on a platform like Canva it is going to cost you $9.95 per month with the annual subscription.
Whereas DesignCap’s Plus plan, which is their highest level plan, will cost you only $5.99/month with the annual subscription. That’s a significant price difference.
DesignCap Review Verdict
DesignCap is a great place to start your journey into the world of graphic designing. As you have already noticed, it is a very easy tool to use and is newbie-friendly. If you are a beginner blogger or a wannabe digital marketer, this online design software can be a perfect choice.
Best of all, you don’t have to pay anything to get started today. Start with their free plan and then upgrade to the DesignCap plus plan (preferably), once you get the hang of it. We liked the software and we are sure you will like it too.
You can also have a look at this free online video maker software from the same team. It’s really good too.
