Pyks Templates Review

Before continuing this Pyks review I want you to know that you can get Pyks software absolutely free with Voomly. You also get Doodly, Toonly, Talkia, and People Builder along with Pyks, when you sign up for Voomly.

I have already explained all this in my Voomly review. Feel free to go through that article to learn more about this amazing suite of tools.

Now let us continue this review and see how everything works inside Pyks.

How to Design an E Cover with Pyks as a Newbie?

Now let me log in to my account and show you how Pyks works.

This is the dashboard.

Click on ‘New’ to start a new project.

Now there are 2 options. One is ‘e-cover’ and the other is ‘custom image’.

I am going to choose e-cover.

Pyks Interface

As you can see in the image above Pyks offers a huge library of templates divided into different categories.

There are bags, binders, books, boxes, brochures, containers, discs, gadgets, and more.

Pyks Ecover Type

All you need to do is choose your category and the type of cover you need.

Click on your desired cover design and all the available templates in your chosen e cover category will open up.

Pyks Templates

Please remember that every element on these templates is editable.

Also, you are not confined to any specific category. You are free to use any template for any category.

Click on a template to start editing it.

As you can see here, you are shown a two-dimensional image of the front cover. If we choose the back cover, you’ll see that its layout changes.

Then there is also a fantastic 3D preview feature, that creates a 3D rendering of your e-cover.

Now, I can move the book around and view it in three dimensions by clicking and dragging the mouse. As you move the cover, you notice a spotlight highlighting different parts adding a professional touch.

Pyks 3D View

To start editing this cover, select either the front or the back layout.

On the right side, you can see all the layers included in your chosen layout. An essential part of the editing process is understanding and manipulating these layers.

Here, each layer corresponds to different elements of the cover like background, text, and images.

Each of these layers can be edited, locked, or deleted. You can also move these layers easily.

On the left side, you have the toolbar. You have the image tool, text, filters, color adjustment, eraser, color replacer tool, and more.

If you want to change the image on the cover, click on the image tool which opens up the image library powered by Pixabay.

There is also a ‘drawing tool’ for all you artists and designers out there.

Once you have finished editing your cover and ensured the layers are correctly ordered, you can save the new e-cover and export it to your preferred location on your device.

The exported image is a transparent PNG file.

Alright, as we saw in the beginning, Pyks has another cool feature where you can create and edit your own custom images. It’s perfect for people who have some serious design skills.

I believe it’s like a simpler version of some of the popular photo editing tools like Photoshop and Affinity Photo. It gives you all the essential features but in a way that’s not gonna make your head spin!

Now, when you’re creating a custom image, you’re working on a canvas and have access to all the editing tools.

But I believe if you’re new to all this, you might want to stick to the first method and work with premade templates at first—just until you get the hang of the software and feel more comfortable playing around with it.

And these were some of the important features of Pyks.

Pyks Review Verdict

After spending considerable time exploring and using Pyks, here’s my honest verdict. Pyks is a remarkable tool that has significantly simplified the eCover creation process for me. The user-friendly interface, diverse templates, and extensive customization options have allowed me to design eCovers that truly resonate with my brand and audience.

The integration with Voomly Cloud and the suite of additional tools have been invaluable in enhancing my overall content creation and marketing strategies.

However, no tool is without its drawbacks.

One thing I noticed is that an internet connection is mandatory to use Pyks. This means that those who prefer working offline or have unreliable internet connections might face some challenges.

Additionally, while the variety of templates is impressive, having even more options or the ability to import custom templates could further enhance the user experience.

The pricing, at $49 per month post the 14-day free trial, is reasonable considering the plethora of features and tools included.

However, for small businesses or individual creators on a tight budget, this might seem a bit on the higher end. A tiered pricing structure or a one-time purchase option could potentially accommodate a wider range of users.

Overall, I believe that the positives of Pyks far outweigh the negatives.

It’s a comprehensive, professional, and user-friendly solution for anyone looking to elevate their digital products with stunning eCovers.

The minor inconveniences are just that—minor, and the benefits, versatility, and value provided by Pyks make it a worthwhile investment for creators seeking to make a lasting impression in the digital realm.
