Why Create 2D Animation Videos?

While 2D animation might feel like a blast from the past, it’s still an incredibly powerful medium – especially when it comes to marketing videos. For businesses, 2D animation Videos offer a number of advantages.

They’re highly versatile and able to be used for everything from product demonstrations to educational content. They’re also relatively easy and cost-effective to produce, especially when compared to live-action videos.

And because they’re not bound by the laws of physics, 2D animation videos can be used to create truly eye-catching visuals that are impossible to achieve with live-action videos.

As a result, businesses that use 2D animation in their marketing videos can stand out from the competition and grab attention in a way that live-action videos simply can’t match.

Communicating your ideas and vision can be hard, especially through text or static images.

You have a great idea but you don’t have the time or money to produce a high-quality video. Even if you could afford it, you don’t know how to make a video that will engage your audience.

If that’s the case, Vyond is the solution.

With this easy-to-use software, you can create videos that are both professional and engaging, without breaking the bank. Plus, with the built-in library of templates and assets, you’ll be able to create videos that fit your specific needs in no time at all.

Now let’s get started!

What Is Vyond?

If you looking for a way to engage your audience and get your message across Vyond is what you need. Vyond is a tool or Saas using which you can create dynamic and powerful videos that will grab attention and get results.

Vyond is easy to use, even if you have no prior experience with video production. And the wide range of features means that you can create anything from character-driven stories to compelling data visualizations.

How to Create 2d Animation with Vyond?

First, you’ll need to create an account with Vyond. Once you’ve done that, you can log in and start creating your first video. Vyond is available as a monthly or annual subscription. You can check out its pricing from the link below.

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be taken to the Vyond dashboard. From here, you can start creating your video.

Let’s click on the ‘create a video’ button to get started.

There are 3 types of videos we can create using Vyond.

Vyond Dashboard

We can choose from contemporary, business-friendly, or whiteboard animation styles. I am going to choose the second option.

By the way, we can access assets available in all these 3 styles from inside the editor no matter which style of video we choose to begin with.

Once inside, I will just delete the scene which has been inserted into the timeline editor by default.

Now let’s start creating our animation video.

I am going to create a simple animation scene for this demo. It is going to involve a person riding a horse and entering a village traveling through a forest.

First, let’s create our scenes. For the first slide, I am going to use the forest scene from where the person will come slowly riding on his horse and will enter the village. So the village scene will be on the second slide.

So, I am going to look for some really cool forest and village background images.

One website I frequently visit for downloading images and vector files is FreePik.

As far as I know, you can download up to 3 assets per day on this website. Of course, not all of them are available for free download. You can also buy some of the premium files if you want.

I have already downloaded the images which I am going to upload to the Vyond library now.

We can either upload our own images or choose assets from Vyond’s built-in library. Building a scene from scratch takes time. That’s why I am using these images as the background scene.

We can upload our assets from here.

Once that is done I am going to create a character.

Now there are hundreds of characters available inside Vyond library. But I am going to create a character from scratch.

I can customize the hairstyle, skin color, eyes, dress, and almost everything to my liking.

Once I am done creating the character I will just save it and add it to the video.

Now I need to give him a horse.

To do that, I am going to click on the ‘character’ and head over to the ‘Action tab’.

Here, I am going to search for the horse.

As you can see, there are already some pre-built animated actions available for the horse.

I am going to choose the ‘horse riding-walking’ action.

Now, I will resize these characters and flip their action.

Now if I preview, as you can see the horse is doing the walking action but isn’t really moving.

To make it look like he is actually walking, I need to add some movement to it.

I am going to do that by clicking on the ‘motion path’ tab and then choosing a horizontal movement.

I can easily adjust the start and end points of the applied motion path, by drag and drop.

Now if I preview the video you can see that the horse is now moving from left to right.

But the speed seems to be a bit fast. So, I am going to adjust that by clicking on the slide in the timeline and making the scene itself a bit longer.

By doing this we are actually changing the duration of the scene.

Now, if I preview you can see that our horse is moving a bit slowly which looks more real.

Now I want to add the second scene. To do that I am going to choose the ‘continue last scene’ option.

As you can see the first scene is now copied to the second slide and the horse and the rider are all the same as they were in the first scene.

But I want them to enter the village now.. So I am going to need to flip this scene.

To do that, I am going to replace my background with the village scene. And that’s about it.

I need to do is add the ‘motion path’ again to make it look like they are actually moving and not just standing there.

To make the horse stand still I am just going to add another slide by clicking on the ‘continue last scene’ option.

In the final slide, I am going to change the horse’s action to standing still and wagging its tail.

I am going to add sound effects to make the video a little more engaging.

And that’s it! This is how you can create a simple 2D animation video using Vyond.

Here’s the video I created.

This is a very basic demo of how you can create animation videos with Vyond.

Of course, there is a lot more you can do with this tool. But I hope this gives you a good starting point.
